I decided to create an account to share my lakwatsa trips.. haha.. i realized that it’s very hard to plan a trip specially if you’ve never been there and your friends don’t know the place either.
So now, I want to help you plan your trip by getting to know the places i came to visit that might sound interesting to you. Cool?
Well, let me start with Majayjay falls. This is the easiest, and if you want to a see real falls (not the ones in your garden) then this might work for you. My friends and I decided to go to this place March of last year for two reasons (1) Its Hot (2) we want to go swimming, and a swimming pool sounded lame. So off we go to Laguna. This was not my first time to visit Majayjay, my boyfriend Ramir, showed me the place once. So I thought, it will be very easy for me to be the ‘tour guide’, but yes we got a little lost.
We left Alabang (you can go to Alabang by riding a bus from Lawton, Cubao, ETC) at 9AM. There are a lot of buses to take you to Laguna, but i suggest you take the bus that will take you straight to Sta. Cruz, Laguna the town before Pagsanjan, from there you can ask Manong trycicle drivers to take you to the jeepney station to Majayjay or take a jeep to Luisiana and take the jeep to Majayjay (the station is beside their market). It gets a little tricky here, from Majayjay (Town Proper) you can take another jeep to the actual falls or if you took the Luisiana road, ask Manong Jeepney driver to drop you off the waiting shed for taytay falls traveler (they already know that place.)
Once you reach the place make sure you’re ready to walk for about an hour to reach the falls. Wear your most comfy shoes o much better slippers! its a little slippery so watch were your going. If you would like to stay overnight you can rent a tent for about P150 (2008) 2-3 person can fit inside one tent. You can ask locals about this and they will send you someone to setup your tent. Or you can rent a room for a night at around P1000 (2008). Comfort rooms and shower areas are for free but it’s a little dirty. If you’re staying overnight don’t forget to bring candl, its really dark and you can only hear the gushing of water and the sound of birds at night.
This is really a cool place to chill in. I just hope everyone will be responsible enough to keep the place clean and safe, both for tourist and for the animals living in the forest!!
Enjoy!!
